I hear America singing

Welcome to the heart of HAMPSONG!

Many of the projects I have undertaken over the years on various issues of music and song have turned out to be works-in-progress, being developed and expanded in the process. Whether it is a survey of the poems of the great Walt Whitman, set by an astonishing number of different composers, the heritage of American song in general, or the origin of Robert Schumann’s song cycle “Dichterliebe” – this is where you will find all the information, the history and the background. Feel free to read, listen, watch and discover.
