Thomas Hampson returns to the Deutsche Oper Berlin next month in a signature role – Giorgio Germont in Verdi’s La traviata. Mr. Hampson performs on  May 6, and in a cast that also features Patrizia Ciofi as Violetta, with Saimir Pirgu as Alfredo. Götz Friedrich directs the production, designed by Frank Philipp Schlößmann, with Ivan Repusic leading the Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin.

Mr. Hampson can also be seen in the role on a critically acclaimed Blu-ray release of La traviata from the Royal Opera House, starring Renée Fleming and Joseph Calleja.
