Heidelberger Frühling Festival

Thomas Hampson returns to Heidelberg this spring, for the annual Internationales Musikfestival Heidelberger Frühling. The festival convenes with an opening concert on April 2 featuring Thomas, pianist Igor Levit, cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, clarinetist Jörg Widmann, the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg and conductor Tito Muñoz. The event programme highlights works by Dvorák, Bernstein, Gershwin, and Porter.

Young singers will also be featured in master classes with Mr. Hampson on April 3, 5 & 6; he will also present a lecture on the 6th. On April 7, Hampson is joined by pianist Wolfram Rieger and soloists Tamara Banješević, Silke Gäng, Idunnu Münch, Maximilian Krummen, and Andreas Beinhauer. The concert features works by Brahms, Mendelssohn, Strauss, and Mahler, including “Des Knaben Wunderhorn.”
