‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ – Baden-Baden Gala and Deutsche Grammophon Recording

Thomas Hampson returns to the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden this summer, as Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro. Deutsche Grammophon and U-Live are co-presenting two performances (July 16 & 19) of this comedic masterwork, which also feature Luca Pisaroni, Hampson’s son-in-law, in the title role, Christiane Karg as Susanna, Rolando Villazón as Don Basilio, and Anne Sofie von Otter as Marcellina, with Yannick Nézet-Séguin leading the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Vocalensemble Rastatt.

These special gala events will be recorded for a feature release on the DG label, which will be Mr. Hampson’s third recording in the role, in addition to a Metropolitan Opera recording with James Levine and an album with Nicholas Harnoncourt and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
