Critical acclaim:

“The casting of the Germont is strikingly credible on this occasion: Thomas Hampson’s stern, paternal Giorgio really has the measure of how to manipulate his son Alfredo . . . Hampson’s passionate, elegant, powerful delivery rang loudly through the house and drew ecstatic applause from the audience at the final curtain.”

Dominic McHugh – MusicalCriticism.com

“. . . his performance is dramatically thought-through, and his singing is consistently empowered. Germont’s big second-act aria, Di Provenza, can seem anticlimactic; here it is a genuine emotional highlight.”
